One day was a particular beautiful day, and Carl the Raven knew that that day was going to be the day that he flew up to the woman. He learned that she was super welcoming, so he knew the easiest way to approach her would just be to go up to her door and ring her newly installed doorbell. The doorbell he watched her set up eagerly. She had forgotten how to put in the batteries and he wanted to help her, so he sneaked inside while she was in the bathroom and popped in the batteries. He smiled when she found the doorbell put together and how she celebrated. He was intrigued by the fact that she wasn’t scared but actually grateful for the secret help. He watched as she and her children hot glued the doorbell to the side of the door. Shaking his head at her resourcefulness, he celebrated with them in his heart as he watched them cheer and ring the doorbell victoriously. He knew that she would be so pleased to have company ring that doorbell when they came to visit and he was gonna do just that. He took a deep breath and puffed out his chest like he heard her tell her children many times whenever they were fearful, and bravely prepared himself to fly to her house
He put together a ball of roots and shaped it into a heart. He put together a poem that he wrote while thinking of her that went like.
A cherry in the morning
That’s all nice and shiny from the sun’s glow
I love to hear your voice
As i sow my seeds in the garden
Hoping a flower will grow
I’ll bring it to you with my heart
“I am brave, I will be brave!” He thought to his self. He brought his gift to her doorstep and He rang the doorbell and waited.
The woman came to the door surprised to see him. “Oh hello” the woman sang.
He was so happy he fainted. The woman was surprised by such a reaction and brought him inside and grabbed some water and donuts because she knew that would help him. He opened his eyes to find the woman standing over him. He smiled as his heart felt complete in her presence. He shakily expressed his emotions but immediately was washed over with comfort when she shared that she had been aware of his presence. She thanked him for the help and mentioned how she’s been waiting for him to come forward so she could thank him properly.
They sat and caught up on all the things that he may have missed while he was away doing his chores. They ate donuts and drank coffee while watching anime. Carl felt silly for being so scared of the woman, she was strong but soft and she handled him so well. They fit together so well and for the first time in a while, he felt love and allowed himself to be loved by someone who wasn’t Raven. And that was okay… better than okay even.
The rest is to be continued
