Speeding up in my rear view.
You don’t see me, but I see you.
Soft hair to be pulled back
Bracing for a mighty crash
Strength as her chest gets barred, pressed.
Driven into, we both knew this wouldn’t be stopped. Useless.
Now her knees are quivering from impact
Nausea swirls around a highlighted sidetrack
Grab your map,
she looks so lost..
Scared eyes never looked so captivating
yet they came with a divine cost
Instead I strategize a plan
Capable of being more than just a timid man
Ask if she is alright
Whisper how I kept her safe throughout the night.
No, that’s a secret
Wishes written on the back of citation tickets
Maybe after she’ll let me sleep on her breast.
Awaken to all the scars and dents fingers caress.
It’s just a love story disguised as a car wreck.
The other day I was in my 1st car accident. Thank God, no kids in the car. That night I played with the experience along with my story telling skills as my way to cope with what happened and came up with some poetry.
I really enjoyed how juicy it came out. My conclusion was that, what if this is what they mean when they say “take your power back” I was able to take a scary experience… and turn it into art. I also met some really nice people that came to our aid. I’m fine and everything will continue being fine. Enjoy and thanks for reading!
